Gay Day at Great America

That same night, at California’s Great America, in his dressing room, Alex Mapa showed BeBe Sweetbriar, the Castro Cheerleaders and me his 8-pack abs. There’s a rock-hard body under all that gay! Later we hit the rides before the crowds got out of control. Having a security detail made it easier.

Heklina and Trannyshack returned to the Main stage for 2 shows. Greg & Fernando reminded the audience why they’re America’s best radio hosts. Later Kelly Rowland, who told me she loved my new Puma’s before hitting the stage (45-minutes behind schedule) with five smokin’ female back-up dancers. City mayor Gavin Newsom declared it Kelly Rowland Day in San Francisco highlighting Rowland’s international work raising funds to fight the AIDS pandemic. Janine Shiota broke a smile as we married three couples at Midnight in front of 7,000 revelers. Rowland and Mapa acted as witnesses. One fan threw a hat, which hit Rowland in the face accidentally.

Dial “M” For Madonna

Over 40 international artists pay homage to the material girl in World of Wonder's latest celeb-inspired art show “Dial M For Madonna.” It was a packed house and even Perez Hilton was attending to his Hollywood friends designer Richie Rich and his Heatherette cohort Trevor Rains. Friends Ru Paul and Norman Kopi were also on hand. Ru, who I collaborated with on a six-foot-painting for a charity auction, is launching a new TV reality drag contest for Logo, especially enjoyed my “9x6” painting (Madge staring at a male phallus). Ru is looking to cast Cassandra Cass on the new Logo show.

GLAAD

At the 19th Annual GLAAD Media Awards in San Francisco, I caught up with longtime friend Alan Cumming who said that he doesn’t mind if his being “out” has cost him work. “It’s worth it,” he said kindly. Cumming is enjoying his time traveling between London and New York where he shares his homes with his dog Honey.

Rex Lee doesn’t mind being the other “out” Asian actor in Los Angeles. The Entourage star confided, “I get jobs when Alec (Mapa) is too busy or too expensive!”

ABC’s Dirty Sexy Money star William Baldwin said kissing transsexual Candis Cayne was the same as kissing Cindy Crawford. “It’s just like kissing any gorgeous woman.” He added.

Jason Lewis, star Sex And The City, The Movie told me there was on-set gossip to report from the New York shoot. “Everyone was completely fine with each other, as they always were. The only animosity out there is in the press.”

Sharon Stone, Vanguard Award winner, told me that she’d fight Arnold Schwarzenegger like she did in the 1990 movie Total Recall for same sex marriage. “My friend Bill Clinton, for a time, was afraid to appear with Gay groups until public opinion change. Look at him now; he’s the world’s largest fundraiser for AIDS. Politicians sometimes have a private view and a public view and I think Arnold is just like Bill Clinton.”
