Women’s Film Festival
Launches cause marketing campaign with Energy 92.7 FM

Energy 92.7 FM and the San Francisco Women’s Film Festival (SFWFF) are working together to kindly ask for your support this year for the celebration of their 4th Annual Film Festival.

“We are reaching out, this year, to like-minded organizations, to help spread the word about the underrepresented females voices in the film industry,” said Executive Director Scarlett Shepard

“In order, to help us reach our goals to inspire and strengthen community bonds, we humbly ask you to donate to a high frequency on-air commercial campaign with Energy 92.7FM,” she added.

Scarlett Shepard is responsible for founding the San Francisco State University Women in Film Festival, which has been supporting the work of female filmmakers since its inception in 2004. Unlike most film festivals, Shepard’s does not require any entry fee from its participants, and provides a forum for voices that would otherwise remain unheard.

The annual event screens and honors the contributions in women’s cinema. The organization plays a critical role in the health and vitality of our community through access to arts, film and cultural events; offering a variety of free to low-cost screenings and educational programs to the community led by celebrities, professors and notable figures in the world of film.

This year’s program includes: Animation for Children, Documentary and Activism, Lesbian and Gay Cinema, Films by Youth, Horror and Sci-Fi. They hope you will help them build on the success of last year’s festival and make this year’s film festival the best ever.

One of Shepard’s favorite entries, which made her cry several times, will play closing night. “It’s called ‘Missing in America’ featuring Danny Glover, who’s going to be at our closing night to talk about the film. I’m so excited about that,” enthuses Shepard.

There are many ways you can get involved and support the festival. You can make a donation online, become a volunteer, join their mailing list, and subscribe to their pod cast. The festival runs April 10-13, 2008 in San Francisco. sfwff.com
