FRESH producers chic-up neighborhood restaurant
Kicking off Saturday, July 26th, is SWANK, a new Saturday night scene where you can dine, drink and socialize in the City’s swankiest venue for guys.
Brought to you by the producers of FRESH @ Ruby Skye, SWANK @ MECCA promises to bring a little bit of LA’s cocktail culture back to San Francisco. The idea is simple; a bar, a DJ, and guys. The twist - not your typical San Francisco bar setting, this is MECCA after all.
“MECCA is an amazing upscale venue, with a chic vibe, cool staff and a one-of-a-kind oval shaped bar,” said Janine Shiota co-producer of FRESH. She adds, “A perfect choice that allows us to expand the FRESH brand into the Castro! We’re very excited to offer the guys a stylish and elegant option right in the neighborhood.”
SWANK happens once each month, always held the Saturday night before FRESH @ Ruby Skye. Mike Lane, co-producer says a monthly event keeps the party feeling new, fun and well, fresh. “But everyone likes a bit of routine, so we chose to complete the FRESH weekend with a cocktail party on Saturday nights. Hopefully, that makes it easy for everyone to remember when SWANK happens – on FRESH weekends,” added Lane.
MECCA is to the City bar scene what Ruby Skye is to the City club scene, truly a space to be proud of. But unlike FRESH, SWANK is not a club. Lane emphasizes, “Yes there will be a great DJ, and yes there will be great looking gay men, but SWANK is cocktails and conversation - and cruising too.”
So, keep your shirts on at SWANK, and save the dancing for Sunday nights at FRESH. The SWANK and FRESH pairing is designed to cover both options in one weekend.
Dinner reservations can be had between 8-10PM with food prepared by new Executive Chef Moises Sikaffy. From 10-2AM, superstar DJ Phil B. spins feel-good dance tracks while this dressy mass cruises the room, hangs with friends and makes new acquaintances.
