The Last Drag
Kick the nasty habit now while it's free!
Here’s a startling statistic: According to the CDC, tobacco causes more deaths in the US than HIV, illegal drugs, alcohol, motor vehicle injuries, suicides and murders combined. This bad news translates into about 400,000 Americans dying each year from tobacco-related cancers, heart and lung disease.
“Why do you think I chew straws” Agrees Bruce Vilanch, gag writer, entertainer and two-time Emmy Award Winner - who also happens to be a former smoker.
But there’s good news. The Last Drag, a free quit smoking class for LGBT and HIV+ smokers, provides a supportive environment for LGBT individuals in San Francisco who want to quit smoking. Best of all, it’s free.
They offer classes 4 times a year and the next class begins August 24 and goes through September 18. People receive helpful information and nonjudgmental support.
“And we actually manage to have some fun along the way, too!” says Gloria Soliz, class facilitator. Call now to register 415-339-STOP or visit lastdrag.org
