Extras Needed - Make Movie Magic
Last chance to help recreate San Francisco history
Join the extra cast of the movie Milk filming Sunday, March 9th, 2008 and help producers recreate Gay Freedom Day 1978. Plan on showing up at 9am and staying for a couple of hours. The exact location is still to be determined. And of course, organizers say, come dressed in your best ‘70s attire.
About two thousand people turned up to recreate the impromptu candle light march that took place on the night after Harvey Milk and George Moscone were assassinated. Cleve Jones, longtime Milk friend and one of the executive producers of the film said, because those nights turned out to be such wonderful experiences for everyone involved, he and his co-producers are inviting people back to be in the movie one last time.
“I wanted to express my gratitude to each of you for the important part you played in bringing Harvey's story to the screen. On behalf of Director Gus Van Sant, Screenwriter Lance Black, Producers Dan Jinks and Bruce Cohen, and the entire cast and crew of MILK, I thank you for showing up, for your patience and cooperation, and for being true to Harvey's spirit and vision of this beautiful city.” Said Jones.
