San Francisco Moviebears
Bears Organize Flick Nights
By Tim Gaskin

SF Movie Bears are a group of bears, cubs and their admirers, located in the San Francisco Bay Area.  They like to gather together for a night of great fun, great conversation and a chance to relax, hang out, visit with friends, meet new friends, and take in a movie together. Sometimes, they even do a Karaoke night, or some show related to bears.  Even expanding to coordinating group live theatre outings.

So by now you must be asking.  "How do you all know what you're going to see and which theatre to meet up at?"  The answer is simple.  They’ve created an online forum for registered members, which include polls on what movie to go see, and which theatre to see it in.  There are also forums where they can post their own personal review of a movie we've seen.  Often a vote is not taken and a highly anticipated movie is chosen by a coordinator.

If that weren’t enough, SF Moviebears has teamed up with Castrobear Presents, to provide members with free screenings to new, unreleased movies as well as live theatre.  A great reason to sign up is that these screenings are being offered only to registered members of SF Moviebears.  They’re also a source for discount movies.  Every week they offer discount prices on most movie outings.  Membership is not required to take advantage of discount movie tickets.  You just have to show up!!
