Underwear fashion God Andrew Christian is coming to Fresh SF, and its your chance to take home innovative underwear designs… free. And of course you can preview them first, Fresh SF dancers will be exclusively wearing his brand on stage, for the entire night.

I do so many events in L.A. and I haven’t really done any in San Francisco. I know that we have a big following up there, so I wanted to come up there and do a little promotion and see everybody up there who’s been so supportive of us.

You know Gavin Newsom is a brief, not boxer, kinda guy. Have you prepared a kinda of gift bag that you can pass along to the Mayor and maybe get him into some Andrew Christian hot underwear?
Yeah, actually I do have a little package for him. That’ll be awesome.

When first did you notice the gays embraced what you were doing?
It was pretty much immediately. I think, as far as trends go, the gay community, is a lot quicker to catch on to something and more willing to take a risk right away, before anyone else is going it.

When did you feel like your brand crossed over to husbands, fathers, sons… those men?
I guess really at different events that I do, and guys coming up like, ‘I really love what you do man.’ There are a few guys that come by and like the product and everything

Do you think it’s adventurous at all, at this point in pop culture, for men to be buying designer underwear?
I think it’s a big trend that’s been opening up as far as fashion men’s underwear. I think it’s just barely starting with the straight community, you know, getting into the whole fashion men’s underwear thing. I think it’s an unmentionable sort of thing, so people you know, can be more daring with what they wear as their underwear, ‘cause it not really seen by that many people.

What makes a great pair of underwear?
It’s all about the fit and how it fits your body. Some people look better in a brief, and some look better in a boxer cut. It’s all about how your body is shaped. We just came out with our Flash Back underwear, which has a butt lifting technology built into the underwear.

So there is help for people like Perez Hilton?
Yeah, definitely. It adds at least one-inch to the butt measurement, it’s built into the actual underwear, so it looks like a normal pair of underwear from the outside. It just has a spandex strapping inside that sort of lifts it up and supports it.

Are you going to invent something for the front package?
That is something that we are working on for next year, so we’ll see

Do you make underwear for the over-endowed, the special man, if you will?
Not yet, but that’s something I’ve heard from a few people, so. We’re always trying to come up new and different cuts.

Do you wear your own underwear?
Of course. I wear, I am like all over the place, the brief cut, I wear the boxer cut. I’m not really loyal to one cut.

Who wears your underwear?
Daisy Fuentes bought a pair for her boyfriend. Jai Rodriguez, Reichen, who’s a good friend of mine. You know, I wish I could have David Beckham wearing my underwear, but he’s under contract.

Who would be your dream client right now?
Him, or Colin Farrell, maybe Ashton Kutcher.

Who shouldn’t wear your underwear Andrew?
I don’t know? I think just about everyone should wear it, except of course, our President.

There must be some rewards being Andrew Christian, do you ever get to assist?
With the fitting, yeah, I wish I could [laughs].

You can meet Andrew Christian at FreshSF May 25, 2008.
