American actor B.D. Wong (Bradley Darryl Wong) is probably best known for his roles as Dr. George Huang on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. He gained attention for his Broadway debut in M. Butterfly. The play won multiple awards, including several for Wong. He has had starring roles in All American Girl, Oz, and Jurassic Park, with guest appearances on The X-Files and Sesame Street. He is also a talented author, having written a novel about his experiences with surrogacy. He is in San Francisco this week to performing in Help is on the Way IV at the Palace of Fine Arts on Sunday August 5th.
What are you most known for? I actually have no idea, I guess it depends on who you ask. Maybe people would argue about this. Is that bad?
Where did your life begin? San Francisco, California, in the uterus of Roberta Wong. Should i be more specific?
What is your idea of perfect happiness? Peace and quiet and looking forward to something; friends and family.
What is your greatest fear? Erectile dysfunction.
What is your greatest extravagance? Shoes and caviar, but i will tell you right now, I’m pretty cheap.
What do you consider the most overrated virtue? Niceness and/or pleasing people (for the sake of pleasing people).
What is your favorite journey? LA to SF on the 101, or from 72nd St. to Times Square on the 2 or 3 train (neither is as good in the opposite direction).
Which words or phrases do you most overuse? Dude
What or who is the greatest love of your life? you're kidding, right? and how can a "what" be the greatest love of your life?? Even a sheep is a "who," for Pete's sake.
When and where were you happiest? Why the hell is this question phrased in the past tense? That’s AWFUL.
Which talent would you most like to have? Auto-fellatio. Oh, sorry, were you asking what talent would i most like to have that I don't already have?
What do you consider your greatest achievement? my son is turning out to be a good guy, and interesting to boot.
Who are your favorite writers? David Hirson, john Cameron Mitchell, Annie Lamott, Frank Rich.
Who are your heroes in real life? My parents, my grandparents, my great grandparents, keep going...
What is it that you most dislike? Nosy people and endless questionnaires. They are kind of the same, huh?
What is your motto? "I am here, now."
