Fifteen years ago, Donna Sachet started her adventure in San Francisco and the City has applauded as the thirtieth elected Empress of SF in 1995-96. As a live singer and tireless fundraiser, Donna has received many awards, including Community Grand Marshal for the 2005 SF Pride Parade. She writes a biweekly column for the Bay Area Reporter, co-hosts TV’s OUT Spoken and stars in Sunday's A Drag at Harry Denton's Starlight Room.

What are you most known for? Entertaining and fundraising

Where did your life begin? The Deep South

What is your idea of perfect happiness? Sunshine, good friends, and an open calendar 

What is your greatest extravagance? Entertainment

What do you consider the most overrated virtue? godliness

What is your favorite journey? Xmas in Buenos Aires & New Year’s in Rio

What do you dislike most about your appearance? If I told you, it would be all you would see.

What is your greatest regret? Not meeting Harvey Milk.

What or who is the greatest love of your life? Music

When and where were you happiest? Here and now

Which talent would you most like to have? To play the piano masterfully

If you could choose what to come back as, what would it be? I don’t believe in reincarnation.

What is your favorite occupation? Performing

What is your most marked characteristic? Flexibility

What is the quality you most like in a man? Comfort with femininity

What is the quality you most like in a woman?  Comfort with masculinity

Who is your favorite hero of fiction? Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz

Who are your heroes in real life? Harvey Milk, Phyllis Lyon & Del Martin, Jose Sarria, Gavin Newsom, Diana Ross…

What is it that you most dislike? Negativity

How would you like to die? While doing something worthwhile.

What is your motto? There are 2 kinds of change:  change you like and change you get used to.

What turns you on? Enthusiasm, energy, hope

What turns you off? Complacency, negativity, gossip

What sound or noise do you love? Applause

What sound or noise do you hate? Road construction

What profession, other than yours, would you like to attempt? Teaching
