Kim Kuzma - Canada's Best
Performs tonight at Martuni's
By Tim Gaskin
Kim Kuzma may have been Canada’s Best Independent Artist in 2001, and her debut album Contradictions held the No.1 spot on the HMV Vancouver Indie Sales Charts for over seven and a half months, but what has the artist been doing lately? Well, her newest hit album, Who You Are features a remix of Bagdad Café hit "Calling you", The Beach Boys’ "God only knows" and Kim's originals "I’d Miss You", and "Come Along and Price You Pay". You can hear her tonight sing songs from her album and other cabaret songs at Martuni’s.
What are you most known for?
Being spontaneous onstage, funny, big voice in small body. I mean short, not Nicole Ritchie small. Puleeze.

What is your greatest fear?
Clothes ripping onstage but then again, that's already happened. Let me tell you, a thong doesn't cover much when the butt seam of your pants rips out! I had the wardrobe malfunction thang down before Janet minus the piercing.

What is your current state of mind?
Very calm... loving the quietness of the outdoors in Guerneville, CA at the moment.
If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
Quit starting one thing, then another, then another, only to find myself running around the house doing all of them half ass. Then stressing about it.

Oprah's dog. I don't even have to be a favorite!

What is your favorite curse word?
Shit!
What profession, other than yours, would you like to attempt?
Saving children's lives or being Patch the clown that makes them laugh.
