Attendance was up by the thousands at the 2008 Gay Day at Great America over Memorial Weekend.

The all night event starred comedian Alec Mapa of Desperate Housewives & Ugly Betty. The night was capped off by an emotional performance from Kelly Rowland (Destiny's Child).

Crowds had to be subdued after technical difficulties delayed Rowland’s performance by 45-minutes. A cap hit Rowland in the face.

Mayor Gavin Newsom declared the gay event's 10th anniversary "Kelly Rowland Day" in San Francisco.

The blistering beats of DJ Paul Goodyear went on until 2am.
